At 63, I am proud to be a lifelong believer in the term, functional fitness. CrossFit prepares us for the challenges life throws our way, whether they are physical or emotional, the stamina and confidence I have built as a CrossFitter are remarkable. I am an avid skier, road biker, backpacker swimmer, and Grandmother of 6. My mom who is 98 is about to embark on a trip to Scotland with us because she too uses CrossFit methodology to stay strong and active.

I have always been an active individual, I ski, hike, bike, kayak, and swim. In my early 50's my son encouraged me to start doing CrossFit to increase my functional fitness and core strength. In year 3 of my CrossFit journey I sustained a serious neck injury, not in the gym. Fortunately, I had been doing CrossFit and it was that strength that prevented the injury from getting worse and encouraged me to get back into the gym as quickly as possible to regain my strength and manage my pain. During that time, I was also pursuing my education as a massage therapist with a focus on my facial techniques. As I became stronger and my healing progressed I was compelled to apply my kinesiology learning to my CrossFit athletes and clients. After three years back in the gym, I attained my level one, and the benefits I have received from this learning and sharing make me the coach I am today. Whether it is core strength, cardio endurance, injury recovery, or compensation patterns in movement, CrossFit has proven to be an outstanding method to help individuals of all ages, shapes and levels achieve increased mobility, stability, and strength. Today I am still an avid outdoor athlete and enjoy my ability to manage pain, mobility, and balance using my CrossFit Training.
